Montero: Spain pioneer in water reclamation and desalination ecosystems
Madrid, 21 feb (EFE) .- The undersecretary of the Ministry of Environment and Rural and Marine (MARM), Happiness Montero, today highlighted Spain's role as a pioneer in sea water desalination, reclamation and renaturation of damaged aquatic ecosystems and use of energy.
Montero took part today in the inauguration of the second technical workshop of the Centre for Hydrographic Studies CEDEX, devoted to the role of science and technology in infrastructure development in the water environment, with special emphasis on the experiences in Asia.
projects has highlighted the seawater desalination, reclamation and water ecosystems renaturation deteriorated, the use of renewable energy, rehabilitation and maintenance of rivers or the R + D + i for increasing knowledge of the functioning of the aquatic environment and improving water infrastructure. Moreover, Happiness Montero noted that water and its environment, under which has developed the life and civilization, is an indispensable element for achieving sustainable development through its use as a resource for consumption, energy production, transport, recreation and environmental conservation. Montero has highlighted the contribution of institutions and agencies knowledge and dissemination of water issues and its infrastructure, its complexity, importance and social impact thereof.
